Culture is a beneficial asset to tourism. It serves as a regional resource that overseas’ visitors would often look out for. If executed well, cultural tourism can make a compelling impact on visitors and eventually bring more tourists to the country. We believe that by providing creativity as well as developing visitor experiences, we can inject a refreshing quality and add value to regional tourism.

With this in mind, we celebrated Puli, Nantou County for its regional resources by creating an experience named “Marvelling at Taiwan’s Beauty and the Feast”. The event was created using a combination of theatrical settings, cultural creativity and local gastronomy. Through an array of sensational dishes, guests were able to learn more about the region’s heritage.

Puli, where the banquet took place, is a central region township with rich local resources. It is amongst the largest producer in Taiwan’s cut flowers trade, and is named the home of butterflies. The gourmet event was inspired by the township’s abundant industries. With an artistic presentation and an impressive service, we hoped that visitors may experience the local flavours while understanding the meaning behind each delicacy.

The event itself was complemented with local visits and a banquet. Guests were taken to Rich Year Farm for mushroom picking. They also took a tour to see insects at Muh Sheng Museum of Entomology, where there is an impressive collection of butterflies; including one that is worth eight-million Taiwan dollars. The banquet was held at the acclaimed Paper Dome, where a 1:20 scale miniature Paper Dome bar was constructed using the paper from Guangxing Paper Mill.
