The “iSee Design” platform, a collaboration between the iSee Taiwan Foundation and the Sayling Wen Cultural and Educational Foundation, marks its 10th anniversary in 2024. In late November, representatives from 21 design organizations across five continents, all connected through iSee Design, visited Taiwan. During their visit, they participated in the “Cultural Fusion Dinner: A Journey of Flavors,” hosted by both foundations on November 28. Additionally, they supported the Taiwan International Student Design Competition (TISDC) by selecting 21 outstanding award-winning works. This recognition highlights emerging talents who have demonstrated exceptional design skills, with the goal of fostering more exceptional design talent both in Taiwan and globally, thus contributing to the growth of the exquisite service industry.

Since 2008, the iSee Taiwan Foundation and the Sayling Wen Cultural and Educational Foundation have jointly committed to promoting high-quality, high-value service industries with a global vision, uniting stakeholders from industry, government, academia, and research. Through this collaboration, they have recognized “design” as a critical element in refining industry services. In 2015, driven by the mission to “support the development of design talent and realize design’s value in industry,” they co-founded the “iSee Design” platform. This platform facilitates global exchanges and cooperation with international design organizations while supporting the “Taiwan International Student Design Competition” (TISDC), with the goal of cultivating exceptional design talent from Taiwan and around the world and contributing to the advancement of the service industry.

Since its inception, iSee Design has diligently worked to establish a global network, forging connections with the most prestigious international design organizations across five continents. It regularly hosts forums, workshops, and summits, inviting leaders and representatives from over 20 countries to Taiwan each year, thereby infusing Taiwan’s design industry with international perspectives and energy. Furthering its mission to showcase Taiwan’s beauty to the world, the iSee Taiwan Foundation has curated the “Cultural Experience Journey” series, providing global design organizations with a unique opportunity to explore international design trends while enjoying the island’s rich, diverse, and captivating experiences. Each visit is designed to surprise and impress. On November 28, 2024, representatives from global design organizations attended the “Cultural Fusion Dinner: A Journey of Flavors,” an event co-hosted by the iSee Taiwan Foundation and the Sayling Wen Cultural and Educational Foundation, where they experienced the harmonious blend of global cultures within Taiwan.

In late November 2024, representatives from 21 design foundations across five continents, connected by iSee Design, arrived in Taiwan. In addition to attending the Cultural Fusion Dinner A Journey of Flavors, co-hosted by the two foundations on 28 November, they also supported the Taiwan International Student Design Competition. Their involvement aims to foster exceptional design talent in Taiwan and worldwide, contributing to the growth of the exquisite service industry.

Now in its 17th year, TISDC has established itself as a prestigious global event and a key platform for nurturing young Taiwanese design talent. The theme for this year’s competition, “Equality,” aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It challenges participants to create designs that go beyond superficial differences, emphasizing shared values and connections to promote more equal and inclusive social relationships.

With the continued support of iSee Design, TISDC has grown into the largest international competition of its kind. This year, the competition drew 1,138 universities and colleges from 64 countries and regions, receiving a total of 19,667 entries. The 2024 International Design Association Special Prize was awarded by 21 renowned global design organizations under iSee Design, with no category restrictions. Of the 21 winning entries, 12 were from Taiwanese students, spanning product design, visual design, and digital animation. These exceptional results highlight the years of dedication by the iSee Taiwan Foundation and the Sayling Wen Cultural and Educational Foundation in fostering a global vision for the high-quality, high-value exquisite service industry. It is hoped that these talented designers will contribute to advancing the global service sector.
