The "Grateful Taiwan: 2010 Cultural Showcase" was jointly presented by the iSee Taiwan Foundation and the Sayling Wen Cultural & Educational Foundation. This cultural celebration featured several acclaimed performance groups, showcasing a diverse and captivating program that fully presented the achievements of both foundations while conveying their vision for the future.
The evening began with Taiwan's premier percussion ensemble, Ju Percussion Group 2, delivering powerful, resonant rhythms. Following that, renowned sand artist Minta Chuang performed alongside the Taoyuan County Wushu Association, harmoniously merging visual art and martial arts to reflect the profound essence of Chinese cultural heritage. Diabolo Dance Theatre then presented a dazzling act, combining traditional Chinese yo-yo (diabolo) with creative choreography, showcasing collective talent through breathtaking techniques.
▏Ifkids Theatre
Another highlight of the evening was "The Beauty of Taiwan: A Journey Through Heritage," featuring Ifkids Theatre, the Taiwu Elementary School Folk Choir, and the internationally celebrated Ming Hwa Yuan Arts & Cultural Group. This segment offered guests an immersive experience of Taiwan's indigenous and traditional operatic cultures, sharing the unique richness and charm of local traditions with the audience.
The grand finale featured the Taipei Philharmonic Children's Choir performing "Green Light," a song imbued with optimism, as emerging Taiwanese talents and all guests joined in the "Lighting the Hope of Taiwan" ceremony, bringing the Grateful Taiwan: 2010 Cultural Showcase to a warm and inspiring close.
